1 Minute Film - Orange Altitude

Creatives need personal projects to grow, challenge and inspire.

Owner and operator Geraldine, here! I’m so honored to be nominated by my Orangetheory Fitness studio @otfwoodridge for their #MoreLife Membership Appreciation spotlight. While part of being featured is capturing a “why I love OTF” video clip at the studio, I wanted to create my own. I hope this 1 minute touches you in some way, and shows why OTF holds a special place in my heart.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude when I think of these people, for without them, I know I would not have made it to the top!

❤️The entire team at @pristinetrails, especially my guides Kim, Passat, and Juma — the superstars that make getting to 5895 meters | 19,340 feet look easy

❤️My awesome OTF coaches who inspire me literally, everyday with their energy and passion, and challenge me to run/bike/row farther/faster and lift heavier: Coach Rudy @rudes713, Coach Marielle @m_emory14, Coach Lewis @the_freakin_rican, Coach Nick @nickcarroll93

❤️And last but not least, my cousin, tent roommate, and fellow mountain camera operator @micolim, for wanting to climb Kilimanjaro too. We did it! :) Thank you for being part of this journey of a lifetime.

With All My Splat Points,

G.

Awesome Chicago Cover Band

If you are looking for a live band for your wedding or general event, definitely check out the cover band the Walk-Ins! Joe and team are so incredibly nice and great to work with. You won't be disappointed.

In one swift hour, we were able to film so much great footage and compress it down to really give an audience a taste of what they can expect. Now have a listen! They'll have you singing along for sure!

Thanks for checking out The Walk-Ins' reel! If you're looking for cover band based out of the Chicagoland area, definitely check them out!

Every place has a story

This was our second time at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Chicago. The first, was for the big brother of soon-to-be baptized baby boy.

I was married here. My two kids were baptized here. And now my two grandkids.

We arrived quite a bit early to make sure we did not get caught in "construction season" traffic. In doing so, we were able to chat with the happy grandmother patiently waiting for her family and close friends to arrive.

She said, "I was married here. My two kids were baptized here. And now my two grandkids."

We had no idea.

It is little things like this that bring life and meaning to what we do. We think we are photographing a baptism. But really, we are photographing the journey of a family. A story of a family that immigrated here, established its roots and with every step along the way, is crafting their history ever so slightly.

It was a beautiful day.

My UIC Connection

We collaborated with the University of Illinois at Chicago on creating a piece that would help incoming freshman and transfer students adjust to being at college. We called "My UIC Connection" and this became the theme for the video. It went on to win an award! First Place to be exact! Thanks to the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region V for recognizing our work, and the testimonies of these young adults!

A New York Fashion Week Experience

There is no doubt we have had an amazing year! And perhaps that could explain why we are sharing everything in a "better late than never" fashion, no pun intended. :)

Many thanks to RachelJStyling and Felix Magazine for allowing us to capture the shows of Runa Ray, Shaco Couture, and Chaz Aracil.

We are documentarians at heart, and this is what we would call a #lifemadestill moment.
— Life Made Still

Runa Ray's show was not a typical runway show, but what they call a "presentation" where models stand in a line, and step forward to showcase their designer's piece for the audience and media.

The best part of being there was that it was Runa Ray's NYFW Debut! When you check out her link above, you'll see her September 2016 show, which has even more breathtaking work.

We hung out to the end of the show and captured this image of Runa Ray, her collection, and team of supporters. We're pretty sure it wasn't easy to get to this moment, and if we had to pick, this was the best image captured. We are documentarians at heart, and this is what we would call a #lifemadestill moment. :)

Runa Ray and her team of supporters. Our favorite pic, and definitely a #lifemadestill moment.

Runway shows for Shaco Couture and Chaz Aracil were held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation Event Space on the lower east side.

At the end of the runway, there were a set of bleachers for all the media people, and boy was it crowded! We met some super nice people ranging from photographers for fashion bloggers, to numerous different media outlets. We got very cozy with everyone, and utilized every inch space available to us -- this was definitely a new level of shooting conditions for us!

The Best Save the Date Yet

"She Said Yes" by Geraldine Teotico with the help of Ramon Joson and Cindy Sung

It was almost a year ago when this picture was taken. Time flies and these two beautiful ladies were married over the summer!

Wedding day photo by Bethany Kelley in collaboration with Life Made Still.

"She Said Yes" was a personal project and the concept was born after discussing portraits for a save the date card / engagement announcement. But these were two amazing friends -- how could we just do an ordinary portraits?

Friends and supporters of Life Made Still helped create this image. In no way is this a one person production! Working with sparklers takes patience. If you are the "sparkler master", you have to be able to write backwards! And if you are the photographer, you have to get your exposures right and direct everything to a T, because it is all about light and timing.  And if you are the subject of the photo, in this case, you need a good winter jacket and tolerance to the cold:)

Thank you to all who helped with creating this amazing photo. And congratulations to this stunning couple in red dresses.

Tracy and Matt

Tracy and Matt tied the knot at the Morton Arboretum on Sunday, September 25, 2016. And boy was it toasty!

Hanging out in the shade or air conditioning was key early on, as temps were in the mid eighties. Their ceremony was held just outside the Sycamore room and luckily it was covered!

Clearly the forces of nature were on their side, as the sun and rain brought their portrait session to a beautiful end. It made for a gorgeous moment.

Tracy and Matt celebrated with their closest family and friends and we happy to capture it. We wish them the best!

Here are more pictures from the time we spent with them.
